They resumed pre-production following MGM's exit from bankruptcy on 21 December 2010 and in January 2011 the film was officially given a release date of 9 November 2012 by MGM and the Broccoli family, with production scheduled to start in late 2011.

Reviews: Skyfall received generally positive reviews from critics, scoring a 92% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 248 reviews, as well as a score of 81 out of 100 on Metacritic based on 43 reviews.
